Marcin Barker CET CFEI CVFI
In 1996 Marcin graduated with honours from the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). Captivated by design engineering, Marcin harboured 10 years of experience in the field with an astounding proficiency in several 3D design software programs. His skill-set was realized at Universe Machine Corporation’s engineering department, and later at his own company Modtek Manufacturing Corporation, where he specialised in the design, manufacture, and modification of hydraulic equipment for the oil and gas industry.
Marcin’s inquisitive and methodical nature, along with his knowledge of the operation of mechanical systems, acted as a solid foundation for his current endeavours in fire investigation. In 2011, Marcin became certified in fire and explosion investigation by the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). While operating as a partner at Anderson Associates Consulting Engineers and later as an independent fire consultant for Rae-Tech Fire Investigations he gained experience with cases related fire origin and cause investigations, property loss and heavy equipment failure analyses.”
Marcin’s passion for critical fire investigation headed the development of Forentech Consulting Ltd. Today, his interests are focused primarily on the fire investigation of vehicle, equipment and structural fires. As an independent consultant, having garnered over two decades of experience in various aspects of engineering and forensic investigations, he provides focused, technical, and analytical fire consultation to the insurance industry.
